Sault Ste. Marie's commercial link to the world. The four locks allow ships to pass from Lake Superior down to the lower lakes and out to the St. Lawrence Seaway from which they deliver cargo throughout the world. Taconite mined in Minnesota and western Ontario, is shipped from the ports of Duluth-Superior and Thunder Bay . Grain from the upper Midwest and Canada is another primary resource shipped through the locks.

end of the week woohoo What do you know? It's already the end of the week! YAY! I have to say, I couldn't wait for the weekend to arrive, since my week at work was so crazy!
So, today is casual day at work; no barbie clothing required. Im just wearing jeans and my white Phat Farm walkers...if only it was casual day everyday! I actually feel weird not wearing dressy cloths today; I sorta got used to it over the course of the last month. But, then again, everybody needs a break!
So, schedule of the day; meeting one of the lawyers to give him his super procedures I had to type. Replace my receptionist from... (more)extra time more money I realize I haven't posted for a few days, and I feel neglectful. I apologize, and I must admit that postings may become less frequent. Despite what I told all of you and myself, I have decided to go back to work full time. My coworker who works the full time shift in the evening that would work out for me is resigning, and my boss wants me in that position. At first I declined, saying I really wouldn't want to work more than 3-4 shifts a week. (That was my desire for a nap talking!) I began to think about how perfect this job was for me - it enabled me to, first and foremost, avoid putting... (more) |

Is It Possible To Cut Our Gas Expenses By Gregg Hall There are many areas within our lives where we find that we could “trim the fat”, when it comes to our spending habits. Our budget for gasoline is one area. However, we live in a society where we are dependent upon our vehicles and therefore gas. When the rates for gas soar, we are rendered helpless. We find ourselves forgoing that evening out so that we will have enough gas money throughout the week. Don’t despair; there are a few ways in which you can control your amount of time and money at the pump.
First, if at all possible, try to avoid filling up your tank when gas prices are sky high. Wait for the price to decline somewhat before you fill up. Filling up your tank when the price is peaking lets gas companies know that you are willing to pay ridiculous prices for gas. For example, in my home town there is a gas station on a busy corner that charges 30cents more than a gas station three blocks away. It is worth traveling the three extra blocks, in my opinion, for the cheaper gas.
Next, you do not need to purchase the highest priced gasoline. Most cars are built to run on regular unleaded. It is important to check your vehicle’s manual and/or your mechanic. Many have said that the high, more expensive gas is a waste of money. It is important to keep your car tuned up and in good repair. If your car is not in tune it will hemorrhage gasoline.
When driving, try to accelerate slowly when leaving the stop light. The fastest person out of the intersection, only ends up spending more on gas. Also,

do not rev your engine needlessly. Revving your engine merely wastes gas.
Walk, bike, or run to your intended destination, whenever possible. If you must drive, then try to arrange a car pool with other people. If you do not know of a car pool near you; call your local community traffic department and ask if they offer a share-ride program. This is an excellent way to save on gasoline.
Finally, the greatest step towards saving money on gasoline is to purchase vehicles that are fuel-efficient. Stop thinking bigger is better. We have turned into a society where we super-size everything, from our food to our houses to our cars. SUV’s although still the number one selling models are gas-guzzlers. Smaller cars are generally, more fuel-efficient. There are many hybrid vehicles on the market today that are getting in excess of 40 miles per gallon in fuel economy.
